Taxi hailing app Uber on Wednesday offered a 15 minute free ride with India's top venture capitalists to aspiring entrepreneurs who had an interesting startup idea, on the roads of Delhi and Pune. To hail 15 minutes with a venture capitalist, all an entrepreneur had to do was to fire up his or her Uber app and slide over to the 'UberPITCH' view between 12 pm to 4 pm. If connected the cab would arrive and pick the entrepreneur and drop back within 15 minutes. "#UberPITCH is all about giving entrepreneurs and start-up enthusiasts a platform to pitch their ideas to some of India's most accomplished investors," said Karun Arya, spokesperson at Uber India. "If the investors see potential in an idea that's been pitched over the two days, and find them strong enough to execute, they may choose to take the conversation forward," he added. Investors such as Alok Goyal of Helion VC and Shailesh Vickram Singh of Seedfund were part of the Uber pitch rides in Delhi. Nitin Sharma, VC at Lightbox also took part in it. Read More
